I wish all my fellow indians, a very Happy Independence day ..

This is the 79th Indian Independence Day and in all these years, we all have learnt the true meaning of independence. Hope you all had a wonderful day today, recalling the essence of our true freedom. Independence or freedom in the real sense does not only mean enjoying the rights or privileges bestowed upon us, but also the duties that we do have for our nation. The truth of independence lies in the spirit, in the meaning of the three colours of our tricolour or “Tiranga” which our national flag reflects. e,g, the Saffron representing courage, sacrifice, and selflessness, while the white signifying peace, honesty, and purity, whereas the Green symbolizing faith, fertility, and prosperity. Hence, along with our independence, we indians have also become obsessed with our own beloved “Tiranga“. On this occasion, we try to portray this tricolour in everything that we do on this particular day to feel more patriotic and the same also goes with our food on that day, in a big way. So while commemorating the spirit of independence, I have made a delicious tiranga savoury pancake for breakfast on this wonderful day. Find this quick pancake recipe to celebrate the occasion if you too are having a tri colour obsession like me😊😄👇👇👇

RECIPE:

Ingredients:
I. For Batter:
- Refined floor (Maida) – 5 tbsp.
- Semolina – 3 tbsp.
- Gram flour/ Besan – 1 and 1/2 tbsp.
- Refined oil – 1 tsp.
- Salt – to taste.
- Sugar – A pinch.
- Chaat masala – 1 tsp.
- Lemon juice – 1/2 tsp.
- Black salt – A pinch or two.
II. For green colour:
- Spinach leaves – 2 bunches.
- Coriander leaves – 1 bunch.
- Mint leaves – 2 to 3 twigs.
- Green chillies – 1 or 2.
III. For White colour:
- Batter – as in the Serial No. I
- Grated coconut – 1 tbsp.
- Black salt – 2 pinches.
IV. For Saffron colour:
- Grated carrot – 1 big or 2 small sized.
- Tomato – 1 medium sized.

Preparation :

For making your yummy tricolour pancakes, take the ingredients of each colour in a grinding jar and blend the ingredients to make a smooth paste of each colour i.e. green and saffron. Now, in a mixing bowl, add the ingredients of batter together and add water to make a batter of desired consistency. The batter should not be too thick or too thin or runny. Take three separate bowls and divide the batter in three equal parts for adding the three colours. To one, add the green paste and to another, add the saffron paste. For the white colour, just add some grated coconut and little black salt in the batter. Your tri-coloured batters are now ready to spread out in the pancakes. Make them separately or club them together as I have made here, to try out your tricolour innovation in the kitchen.😊😉
